Is the Pantene Gold Series Collection a win or a loss for the natural hair community?

The Pantene Gold Series collection debuted and was featured in the February 2017 issue of ESSENCE Magazine. Black Ph.D. scientists, along with 40+ hairstylists and a world-renowned dermatologist, created the Pantene Gold Series Collection. When I found out it was made by black scientists, I did not hesitant to support and purchase this product collection. #BlackExcellence

The Pantene Gold Series Collection has multiple products including the Intense Hydrating Oil, Moisture Boost Shampoo and Conditioner, Repairing Mask, Deep Hydrating Co-Wash, Detangling Milk, Hydrating Butter Creme, and the Curl Defining Pudding. The prices of these products range from $6 to $10 USD.

So what products did I actually try out? Let’s start with the products I would highly recommend for purchase in no particular order.

1. Pantene Gold Series Moisture Boost Shampoo

The Moisture Boost Shampoo is DEFINITELY a moisturizing shampoo that leaves your hair feeling soft and smooth. My hair feels clean yet moisturized when using this product.

2. Pantene Gold Series Moisture Boost Conditioner

The Moisture Boost Conditioner does exactly what it claims to do. This conditioner helps to thoroughly moisturize and detangle hair while delivering instant softness and strength. If you are looking for a BOMB conditioner to help you get through the detangling process with ease, trust me when I say you won't be disappointed with this conditioner.

3. Pantene Leave-On Detangling Hair Milk

The Leave-On Detangling Milk is one of my top favorites in this collection. Why? It leaves my hair feeling GOOOOD! Not only is it a good moisturizer but it is also very lightweight. In my experience using this hair milk, it pairs well with many different stylers because of its lightweight consistency (there isn't an issue with product buildup).

4. Pantene Intense Hydrating Oil

The Intensive Hydrating Oil is a product that I will never forget about. When I first purchased this product, I had low expectations and I thought it would be just another basic oil. Let me tell you something... this must be infused with something from the heavens above because the absorption factor is something I have never felt before. Also, don't get me started on the shine factor that it gives to your hair. If you are a product junkie like me and you are hesitant to buy more products, this is one you definitely want to add to your rotation.

5. Pantene Hydrating Butter Creme

The Hydrating Butter-Creme is probably my least favorite within the collection because it didn't really add more moisture to my hair after using the Shampoo, Conditioner, Leave-In, and Hydrating Oil. Personally, I believe this product doesn't add a significant enough change in my hair when styling for me to purchase again in the future. However, I would recommend this product if you struggle with excessive frizz.
